Return Policy

Last updated:

We want every journal that leaves our studio to feel like the right fit. If it does not, we are happy to take it back. This policy explains how returns work, what we can and cannot accept, and how quickly we issue refunds. It is in addition to your statutory rights as a UK consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

1. Return window

You have 30 calendar days from the day your order arrives to start a return. As long as you let us know within that window, you then have a further 14 days to post the item back to the studio.

2. Condition of returned items

Returned journals must be unused, with all original sleeves, ribbons and packaging intact. Pages should be blank and the cover free from marks. Sadly, we cannot resell journals that have been written in, so once you have started using one it is yours to keep.

3. How to start a return

Please write to us through the contact page with your order number and a brief note about why you would like to return the item. We will reply with a short confirmation and our return address. There is no need to print a special form.

4. Postage costs

Unless the item arrived damaged or we sent the wrong edition, return postage is at your own expense. We recommend a tracked Royal Mail service so that the parcel can be followed on its journey back to the studio. We are unable to take responsibility for parcels that go astray in transit.

5. Damaged or incorrect items

If your order arrives damaged or contains the wrong item, please contact us within 14 days of delivery. We will arrange a free return and either send a replacement or issue a full refund, whichever you prefer.

6. Refunds

Once your return arrives at the studio we will inspect it within three working days and email you to confirm the outcome. Refunds are issued to the original payment method and typically appear within five to ten working days, depending on your bank.

Refunds include the price of the returned item and the cost of standard delivery if the entire order is returned. If only part of an order is returned, original delivery charges are non-refundable.

7. Personalised orders

From time to time we offer personalised journals with embossed initials or custom prompts. Because these are made to order, they are exempt from the 30-day return window unless faulty. Your statutory rights regarding faulty goods always apply.

8. Sale items

Items bought during a sample or seconds sale are clearly marked as final sale. These cannot be returned for change of mind, but faulty items may still be refunded under your statutory rights.

9. Cancellations before dispatch

If your order has not yet been dispatched you may cancel it free of charge by writing to us. We aim to act on cancellation requests within four working hours during studio opening times.

10. Contact

Questions about returns can be sent through the contact page. We try to respond on the same working day.
